France lost the Hopman Cup final to the Czech Republic. Both Marion and Richard, went down in two sets.
Richard played very well today, but Tomas Berdych was in even better form. Untouchable on his serve, committing hardly an unforced error, powerful from the baseline, the Czech took the breaker of the first set 7-0. In the second set, Berdych was even two breaks up, but Richard fought and got one break back. However, it was not enough to turn the match around. He lost 6-7 4-6. Richard's next tournament is Sydney, where he has a first round bye and will meet the winner of Fognini/Qualifier in the second round.
