World No.18 Richard Gasquet has become the latest top 20 player to commit himself to this year's Adelaide International at Memorial Drive.
The Frenchman joins Jarkko Nieminen (world No.15), Novak Djokovic (No.16), Radek Stepanek (No.19), Lleyton Hewitt (No.20), Dominik Hrbaty (No.21) and Florent Serra (No.61) in the mix for the title.
The South Australian tournament is held as the traditional lead-up to the Australian Open and will be played from December 31 to January 7, 2007. It will also trial a new ATP round-robin format.
Tournament co-director Peter Johnston expressed his delight at the star-studded line-up and said it was particularly pleasing to see Hewitt return again to his home city.
"You can't beat having five of the top 20 and really the No.1-ranked Australian," he told ABC Sport.
"You can never underestimate the importance of having Lleyton at the event, we've got four former champions, so really it's a blue-chip field."
"I think to a large degree it's a response to the round-robin format."
