Richard vs. Roger: Take Two
Date: 15 mars 2006 à 16:35:05 CET
Sujet: Tournaments (English)

It's the fourth round match up that everyone was anticipating: Gasquet vs. Federer. The two met earlier in the week in doubles, but this will be their third clash in singles, and we all remember what happened last year at Monte Carlo...

Order of play: Federer vs. Gasquet is scheduled for third on Stadium Court One. Gasquet/Grosjean vs. Nadal/Youzhny will be the last match on Stadium Court Two. Both courts start at 11.00am PST Wednesday's Full Order of Play

Gasquet was one of just four men to beat world number one, Roger Federer in 2005. The victory came in the quarter finals of Monte Carlo. Federer gained his revenge a couple of weeks later in the Hamburg final, so the two are tied at 1-1.

On playing Gasquet, Roger Federer commented:

"We just played the doubles against each other. That was probably good for both to see a little bit how we're playing. He has not the best start of the year so far. I hope this is not his tournament where he really wants to show how good he is, but we'll see about that.

Like you said, we have had some good matches, Monte-Carlo and Hamburg I thought were both good matches. Now we're on hard court. I would favor myself there. Again, he's got potential to play good on all surfaces. It's going to be an interesting match I think with good shots."
