France are through to the quarterfinals of Davis Cup after building up an unsurmountable lead in Halle. Clement/Llodra gave the French the winning rubber, with a four sets victory over Haas/Waske 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-4, 6-1.

Davis Cup is the renowned team sport in tennis and every member of the French team did their job this weekend to secure victory for France.

Reverse singles are set for Sunday. At the moment Gasquet is up first against Kiefer, followed by Grosjean against Haas, however the captains of both teams are at liberty to change the players. The matches will be best of three sets.

France will host Russia in the quarterfinals. The Russians overcame the Dutch this weekend. France will be seeking revenge as they lost to the Russians at the quarterfinal stages of Davis Cup last year.
