The title was won in the semifinal against Garcia-Lopez. In the final, Richard was the boss from start to finish. He clearly demonstrated that his clay game was far above whatever Kyrgios had to offer. He broke the Australian in the fifth game of the first set and was never in danger to take the set 6-3.Two more breaks in the second set resulted in a 4-0 lead. Kyrgios had his first breakpoints at 1-4*, but Richard saved them all and never looked back. He secured his 6-3 6-2 victory on his first matchpoint.
