This week, the US Open Series arrives at Cincinnati for the Western and Southern Financial Group Masters Series event. Richard, who is seeded 16 for the event will face Feliciano Lopez in the first round.

Richard has played Lopez just once before, in 2003 at a tournament in Marseille. In a tight three setter there, Richard emerged the victor.

Richard is in a tough section of the draw. he is in the same quarter as Lleyton Hewitt, and the same half as Nadal, Roddick and Henman.
