It was a brief stay for Richard in Monte Carlo. He practised with Andreas Seppi on the first Saturday but stopped after some 30 minutes.

He retired from the tournament due to severe back pain the same day and gave also wo for Barcelona. He took an infiltration the following Tuesday and is now trying to finally heal this injury which had hampered him for quite some time.
