Andy Murray stopped Richard 7-6(3) 6-3 6-2 in the round of last 16 at Wimbledon.
In the first set, Richard had a winner/unforced error ratio of 17-2 versus Murray's 12-3, but could not get a decisive break. In the tiebreak, Murray scored the important ponts and took the set 7-6(3).
Richard's serve declined in the second set, both for percentage and penetration and his confidence went down with it. One break was enough for Murray to take a 2-0 lead in sets. In the third set, Murray really turned it on and played exceptionally well to take the match 7-6 6-3 6-2.
Though no official announcement has been made yet, Richard is expected to be in the French DC-team for the tie against Germany from 8-10 July.
