Richard ran out of steam a bit in Sunday's final against David Ferrer. Ferrer stole an early break, and ran with the lead to take the AIG title 6-1, 6-2.
Richard has withdrawn from Vienna, his next tournament will be in Madrid.
Richard's two results, winning Mumbai and finishing runner up in Tokyo have put him into a great position for the Masters Cup. On Monday, Richard will move to number 9 in the ATP race.
