Today Richard will take on Giorgio Galimberti of Italy for a place in the third round at the US Open.
The pair have met once before, two years ago in Napoli on clay where Richard won in three sets. Galimberti qualified into the main draw and has matched his best ever performance here by reaching the second round.
The Italian, who is ten years Richard's senior and more successful in his doubles exploits than his singles, beat young American Donald Young very convincingly in round one 7-6(4), 6-1, 6-2.
The pair take to the court last on Grandstand today, following the all German encounter between Haas and Schuettler. Allez Richard!
