 Richard reached the third round in Wimbledon by defeating Go Soeda 6-0 6-3 6-7 6-3. His next opponent is Bernard Tomic.
Richard raced through the match for a 6-0 2-0 lead, before losing some of his focus. He still won the second set 6-3, but had to concede the third set in a tiebreak. Conditions were not easy as there was slight rain and most of the other matches had been called off already. Richard got the job done in the fourth set before play was suspended for the day.
