Richard needed less then two hours to reach the fourth round in Wimbledon, defeating Nicolas Alamgro 6-3 6-4 6-4. His next opponent is Florian Mayer.
Richard broke his opponent's first service game and held that advantage to take the first set 6-3. In the seond set, he broke in the fifth game. Alamgro had chances to rebreak later on, but Richard served great not to allow the Spaniard back in. In the third set, Richard broke in the seventh game and sent a clear signal in his immediate service game thereafter: three aces. Almagro came back to 4-5, but Richard had everything under control to win his first match against the Spanish 12th seed.
