Richard reached the semifinals in Bejing by beating David Ferrer 6-3 6-4. His next opponent is Novak Djokovic.
Richard seemed to have taken lots of confidence from his US Open victory against Ferrer a month ago. He broke the Spaniard in the forth game and kept this advantage to take the first set 6-3.Things went further his way when he managed another break to go 2*-1 up, but Ferrer broke straight back. Richard took his fate into his own hands when he broke again for 4*-3 and this time there was no return for Ferrer. Richard served out the set for a 6-3 6-4 victory.
