Richard lost Nikolaj Davydenko 5-7 3-6 in the quarter finals of Rotterdam. His next scheduled tournament is Marseille.
The start looked like a repetition of their match last week. Davydenko making errors and Richard was twice a break up. The difference was that Richard's serve was not up to the job to bring the advantage home, only 49% of first serves went in.
In the second set, Richard served better and was overall more aggressive, but Davydenko improved even more, two brilliant winners gave Davydenko a 4-3 lead and then the Russian became unplayable, hitting winners left and right, reminding everyone at the player he once was.
