Richard won his 3rd round match in Indian wells against Jürgen Melzer 6-1 6-3. His next opponent is the winner of Roddick/Isner.
The first set was for history. Richard stormed over his opponent in less than 20 minutes hitting 10 winners and committing zero (!) unforced errors. In the second set, Richard saved 3 breakpoints in the forth games, just to break his opponent immediately thereafter, he hold serve convincingly and "an all or nothing-Melzer" was able to come back to 4-3. But Richard showed no hesitation, won his serve for 5-3 and broke his opponent for the forth time to seal a superbe 6-1 6-3 victory.
