Richard took revenge on Rainer Schüttler who defeated him last week in Bejing. He won his match against the German convincingly 6-3 6-2 and is up for a semifinal against Juan Martin del Potro who eliminated the defending champion David Ferrer.
Right from the start, there was no doubt about who would win this match. Richard looked determined, served well (62% first serves) and played aggressively. He used his BPs to 100 % and did not allow a single one himself. One break was enough to win the first set and he started the second with another one. Schüttler had treatment on his right arm at 2*-1 and the match was virtually over. Richard showed no hesitation to finish the match 6-3 6-2 in less than an hour.
