Richard has arrived tonight in Shenzhen.

I'm really hoping for a good week this week. Richard is seed #3 - he has a bye R1, and will play either Gilles Muller/ Chiudinelli in R2.

Good solid win for Richard after a 2 hour rain delay, beating Gilles Muller, 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hr 17.

Yes, DBR, Richard continuing his good form since the Davis Cup. Great win against Muller and it was great seeing Richard so confident on the court again today. It sure would be nice if Richard can go far here and I would love to see a Murray match and, of course, Richard winning.

I saw most of the match today against Monaco and Richard had many opportunities to win in both sets. It was hard to watch especially with Richard perspiring so much. I did feel so sorry for him as I am sure it must affect his game perspiring so much like this during a match. Even though he lost he played some brilliant tennis and I am sure had he not been perspiring so much he would have won easily.

I came across the below pic of Richard during the U.S. Open "Perspiring" and had to share. Wow, it must be so difficult playing like this for Richard.

I just saw the shock draw for Richard in China and he is playing Nadal in the first round. I know "who wants to meet Nadal in the first round" but I hope Richard will take this opportunity to beat Nadal, which I do believe he can if he tries hard enough.

I think it would be good if Richard plays doubles whilst there "just in case he is out after the first round"

Tough loss for Richard today 6-4, 6-0. I saw some of the first set and things were just not going Richards way. I could see the frustration building by the minute on Richard's face. He had a few opportunities to break back but luck was just not on his side today.

Never mind, I love Richard Gasquet and I will support him to the end.

A hard day for him, and one that maybe sums up how frustrating this year has been. But hopefully things will get better soon and we will have a happy, healthy Richard back again.

I could not see teh match live and was really worried when I saw the stats. Having seen a replay I feel more comfortable. Nadal's break in the first set resulted from a fine netcord for him and a bad one for Richard who had rebreakpoints in three games thereafter. Not being able to convert has two reasons: Nadal playing well and Richard 's lacking confidence on big points.

In the second set, Richard had a very poor first serve percentage which facilitated Nadal's task considerably. It was only then, that Richard seemed dejected and lost belief.

According to this information, Richard stayed on in Beijing for practise, even if it raining there right now.

Richard has been in Shanghai since Thursday with Sergi, and has been practising every day. Hopefully he is ready for his match tomorrow (Monday) against Jeremy Chardy.

Richard will play 3rd match on stadium court, at 18.30pm local time in Shanghai.

Yes, I checked out the schedule and I hope Richard gets past the first round. One round at a time but sure hope Richard does well here. I feel he is so frustrated lately as he is having difficulty getting back in to the swing of things. Lets hope he does well toward the end of this year and start 2015 in good health.

Richard beat Chardy 7-6, 6-2

Nice solid match from Richard, with a close 1st set where Richard saved 2 SP, the 2nd one with a stunning reflex forehand winner off a huge Chardy forehand.

Chardy lost focus and fell away in the 2nd set. Richard served out the match to love, with 2 aces in his last game.

Seb Grosjean was commentating for beinsport and was very happy with Richard's performance.
