This was a tough match, Kokkinakis was playing very well when his cramps started, and it came at a very good time for Richard. But a win is a win, no matter the circumstances.

In his press afterwards, Richard said he feels 100%, with no pain, which is great news. He plays Robin Haase next in R2.

Richard's shot was the shot of the tournament against tomic yesterday. Super match from Richard, totally focused throughout. Good luck against berdych tomorrow.

What can I say after watching Richard play a thrilling match against berdych, especially after losing the first set. Richard can win the us open if he plays with the same intensity in his next matches. Richard is playing closer to the baseline and with more confidence. - a really super performance. Congratulations.

A really great win for Richard, especially after he was dominated in the 1st set. He showed great fight and courage,, and was in complete control by the end of the match.

Allez Richard!!!! Richard played well to beat Berdych in 4 and make it to his 4th grand slam quarter final. He looks sharp and confident atm and I love his attitude. I would say he has to raise his level and play very aggressive against Federer though, serving well and approaching the match how he did against djokovic at wimbledon. He has to get more angle on his backhand though so federer cant run around it so much. We'l see if he can doit.

I could not see it due to travelling but I am vary happy with Richard's 2nd GS quarter final of the year. Well done, and now I am off to watch the highlights.

Not teh QF I have wished for. but Roger's massive service put Richard under so much pressure right from thw start that he could never develop his game.

Nevertheless, good tournament for Richard, his path was not easy.
